The new look is awful, Nick Denton is trying way to hard to be interesting-- and failing, and Nick Douglas WAS Valleywag. Last week, I actually stood next to Nick Denton while he was talking with Nick Douglas and Kevin Burton. For the record, I can confirm that Denton is a certified ass-wipe in person too. He was in my IRC group a week before I met him at Nick Denton's public announcement party for him. I saw the position slowly eroding the pretty good lines he had on what was worthy and what was fishwrap with a sexy title, so I'm glad he's free. The sensationalism racket is a one-way street.
